I very much appreciate all your thoughts and advise. It appears that there is considerable interest world wide in our efforts to establish an Islamic Global Health Network.
Well, this is my first week in the University Pittsburgh, I have been discussing with Ron and others in the Center how can we expand our group and move on with the work. At this point the most important effort is to recruit worldwide those interested in the Internet, Islam and Health. Included, as an attachment is a brief summary of the Islamic Global Health Network. We have found the best way to bring more people into the network would be for you to contact some of your friends to have them join. Also, it would be wonderful if you could send information about the IGHNet to your friends, and encourage them to pass it on to others. Recruitment needs to be our top priority.
It is most interesting as I have gone through the total Supercourse faculty of 4000 faculty and discovered 195 who are Muslims. We are sending letters to them now.
The IGHNet Supercourse can now also begin. We are preparing a general lecture on Islam, Prevention and the Internet. This will be available shortly. We would very much like for you to join. Izzeldin suggested a lecture on disease prevention-Islamic tools as well. By the end of the year we hope to have 500 people worldwide and 40 lectures.
During the next few weeks in Pittsburgh I will create a set of slides for presentation on the Islamic Health Network. I will send this to all of you so you can present the concept at professional meetings, to you government and to students.
The Supercourse would be called Islamic Health Supercourse.
To our knowledge, this has never been done before. As such we need to work together as a team to create something that could have a major impact on Islamic Health worldwide. This newsletter will be posted on our home page. The Islamic Health home page will be now linked to the Supercourse. I am also contacting many of the major home pages concerned with Islamic Health requesting that they link to our site.
By the way, if any of you does not have the Supercourse CD yet, please email and I will get it post it for you.
If you want to be removed from this list please send an unsubscribe message to (islamicprevention@hotmail.com).

Dear Friends,
Its hot and sunny in Pittsburgh, some humidity, but it is really good weather. I am sure it is like this in many of your cities.
We had a very busy and exciting week, nearly everyday we have new members emailing and saying that they would like to be a part of the Islamic Global Health Network (IGHNet).
I would like to thank all of you old and new members for their efforts in expanding our human and thus our scientific base. But keep up the good work as we still need to recruit more people.
The Islamic supercourse homepage is up and running now, you can access it fromm the main supercourse homepage or directly from this url:
http://www.pitt.edu/~super1/ighn.htm
We have four lectures, which are lectures by muslim contributors double listed in the main supercourse and the Islamic supercourse, If any of you would like to double list his lecture just send me an email and I will do that immediately.
Please send me your comments, suggestions, and how do you think we can develop this further together.
Also it is the time now to contribute lectures to be listed in both the Islamic and the main supercourses, so I urge you to send me the title and the date of your lecture as soon as possible. I hope that we will have at least 20 lectures posted before the end of this year.
Well I know that this is vacation time for many of us, but just decide the title and the time, and I am sure that most of you will be able to do it even sooner than your proposed date.
The new Islamic supercourse home page has also a link to the Islamic Global Health Network (IGHNet), so please distribute it to any body interested and ask them to join our network, this includes your students, friends, co-workers..etc.
hoping to hear from you soon,
abed

The is a wonderful opportunity to being to "seed" the Supercourse across Egypt, and potentially across the rest of the Arab world. Abed and I would like your advise as to what would be the best direction to procede with the Minister, Egypt and other countries.
